"We'll settle this behind the wheel." While the teaser trailer for DreamWorks' adaptation of the video game Need for Speed mostly focuses on beautiful visuals paired with some haunting but gorgeous music, the fill trailer dives into the story and the dialogue. Unfortunately, that means we get to see what will likely be the weakness of this action thriller. Almost every line of dialogue coming from Aaron Paul sounds melodramatic and cheesy, but maybe that's the point. At least the racing sequences look awesome, and the photography on display continues to look stunning. Let's hope this offers more than the eye candy though.
Here's the full trailer for Scott Waugh's Need for Speed, originally from the film's YouTube channel:THE-SCENE
Need for Speed is directed by stuntman turned director Scott Waugh (Act of Valor) and written by George Nolfi (The Bourne Ultimatum), John Gatins (Real Steel) and producer George Gatins. Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, muscle car mechanic and street racer Tobey (Aaron Paul) gets out of prison determined to settle the score with the man responsible for his false conviction. Tobey tears up the road in a gritty cross-country journey— one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption. Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots and Michael Keaton also star in the DreamWorks film arriving March 14th, 2014.
