"Let it be shown we chose to die on our feet rather than lie on our knees." As 2013 inches to a close, the movies of 2014 are getting nearer. One of the earlier blockbusters in the spring will be 300: Rise of an Empire, the adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel with elements of the story taking place before, during and after Zack Snyder's 3oo. Now a new full length trailer shows off tons of new footage from the follow-up, with a large focus put on Eva Green as the villainous Artemesia, and a little less time spent on our new hero, Sullivan Stapleton as Themistocles, wearing a blue cloth so people don't get confused, I suppose. The visuals look like they just might outdo 300, but what about the story? Watch the trailer below!

Here's the new trailer for Noam Murro's 300: Rise of an Empire from Warner Bros. Pictures:

Noam Murro directs 300: Rise of an Empire (formerly The Battle of Artemisia), based on Frank Miller's upcoming prequel graphic novel Xerxes, and adapted by Zack Snyder (director of 300) and Kurt Johnstad (writer of 300 and Act of Valor). Greek general Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy. Warner Bros is releasing 300: Rise of an Empire everywhere in 3D on March 7th, 2014 early next year.
