X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn and comics guru Mark Millar are very close. The two collaborated on Kick-Ass back in 2010, and now that Vaughn is coming back to direct X-Men: Days of Future Past, the two will be working side by side again because Millar was recently hired to consult on all of Marvel's film content with 20th Century Fox. Millar recently spoke with SFX Magazine (via Total Film) and basically confirmed what every X-Men fan has wanted to hear since this franchise first hit the big screen with Bryan Singer's 2000 film: we're finally going to get to see the giant robotic Sentinels get their due.
"Vaughn is going for a big sci-fi style thing with X-Men: Days of Future Past. It's X-Men meets The Terminator. You've got robots, you've got time travel, you've got superheroes - it's got everything in one film."
X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters in July 2014.
